the agreement between you and us.
last updated April 24, 2026 — version 1.0
These are the terms of service — the agreement between you and Tessakin that governs your use of the platform.
We've written this in plain language because we'd rather you understand it than be impressed by it. Some of this is legally binding. All of it reflects how we actually intend to run this platform.
By creating a Tessakin account, you agree to everything in this document. If you don't agree, don't create an account — or close the one you have.
Who we are
Tessakin is operated by [legal entity name] — a [corporate structure] organized in the state of Georgia, United States.
Legal review needed: Exact legal entity, corporate structure, registered address, and contact must be confirmed.
You can reach us at:
- —General questions: hello@tessakin.com
- —Privacy questions: privacy@tessakin.com
- —Legal notices: legal@tessakin.com
Who can use Tessakin
Tessakin is for adults — 18 and older. By creating an account, you confirm that:
- —You are at least 18 years old
- —The information you provide is accurate
- —You are not barred from using the platform by a previous decision we've made
- —You are not located in a jurisdiction where your use of Tessakin would violate local law
Legal review needed: Sanctioned-jurisdiction restrictions may be required depending on platform reach.
Your account
You're responsible for your account
You're responsible for keeping your password secure, for every action taken under your account, and for keeping your contact information current. If you believe someone else has accessed your account, tell us immediately at hello@tessakin.com.
You can have one account
Each person gets one Tessakin account. Multiple accounts per person, sockpuppet accounts, or accounts created to evade moderation actions are not allowed.
We may decline or close accounts
We reserve the right to decline new accounts or close existing ones if we have a reasonable belief that a user has violated these terms, our community guidelines, or applicable law. When we close an account for cause, we explain why and provide an appeal path.
What you can do on Tessakin
You can:
- —Create a profile
- —Take the archetype quiz and receive results
- —Participate in the community (post, reply, join spaces, send messages where permitted)
- —Follow and be followed by other members
- —Export your data at any time
- —Step back from Tessakin at any time
- —Leave Tessakin permanently at any time
All of this is subject to the community guidelines and these terms.
What you can't do
You can't use Tessakin to:
- —Violate our community guidelines (see /guidelines)
- —Violate the law — any applicable law in your jurisdiction or ours
- —Attempt to access accounts that aren't yours
- —Interfere with the platform's operation (scraping at scale, exploiting bugs, running bots, DDoS attacks, etc.)
- —Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of Tessakin's technology
- —Use Tessakin's brand, logo, or any protected material outside of normal community use without written permission
- —Use data from Tessakin — including profile content, posts, or direct messages — for any purpose other than your personal participation in the community. No scraping, no data mining, no training AI models on our users, no building mailing lists
- —Transfer your account to someone else
Legal review needed: The no-scraping and no-AI-training provisions need to be worded in ways that are both enforceable and reasonable. Also consider anti-scraping technical measures.
Your content
You own what you create
The posts, replies, profile content, messages, and other material you create on Tessakin remain yours. We don't claim ownership.
You grant us a license to display and operate
By posting content on Tessakin, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, store, reproduce, and distribute your content for the purposes of operating the platform. This license ends when you delete the content or leave Tessakin — except for the limited retention described in our privacy policy.
You're responsible for what you post
You're responsible for the content you share. That means:
- —You have the rights to share it
- —It doesn't violate anyone else's rights (copyright, trademark, privacy, etc.)
- —It doesn't violate our community guidelines
- —It doesn't violate applicable law
We can remove content
We may remove content that violates these terms, our community guidelines, or applicable law. When we remove content, we tell you and explain why. You can appeal.
Legal review needed: Content license grant and removal rights need specific language for enforceability and Section 230 coverage. DMCA counter-notice procedures may also need to be addressed.
Fees and payments
Tessakin is free to use at launch. There are no paid features, subscriptions, or in-product purchases.
If we introduce paid features in the future, we'll update these terms with specific payment terms, and no existing feature that is free today will become paid without advance notice.
Legal review needed: Placeholder language for future payment terms, including consumer-protection compliance for auto-renewing subscriptions (especially California's AutoRenewal Law).
Changes to the platform
Tessakin is being built. We will add features, change features, remove features, and sometimes make mistakes. We'll tell you about significant changes. We won't tell you about every small tweak.
We reserve the right to discontinue any part of the platform for any reason. If we discontinue a feature that affects data you've created, we'll give you reasonable notice and the ability to export your data.
Changes to these terms
We'll update these terms as the platform evolves and as law changes. Material changes will be announced by email and by updating the “last updated” date above.
If you don't agree with a change, your remedy is to leave Tessakin before the change takes effect.
Disclaimers and limitations
Legal review needed: This entire section is placeholder. Standard warranty disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification clauses, and force-majeure provisions must be drafted by a lawyer in enforceable language.
Tessakin is provided as-is
We work hard to make Tessakin reliable, safe, and useful. But we can't guarantee it will always be error-free, uninterrupted, or perfectly secure. You use the platform understanding that things can go wrong.
We're not responsible for what other users do
Tessakin is a community platform. The content on it comes from its members — not from us. If someone else's post, message, or behavior causes you harm, the primary responsibility lies with them. We will take moderation action where warranted, but we don't take on liability for user conduct beyond what the law requires.
Limitation of liability
Our total liability to you, for any claim arising from your use of Tessakin, is limited to the amount you've paid us in the past 12 months (or $100 if you've paid us nothing, which is probably the case at launch).
Legal review needed: This clause needs specific enforceable language and may be unenforceable in certain jurisdictions for certain claim types.
You'll indemnify us for your own violations
If someone sues us because of something you did — something you posted, something you shared without rights, or any violation of these terms — you agree to cover our reasonable costs of defending that claim.
Legal review needed: Indemnification scope and limitations need careful drafting.
Dispute resolution
Legal review needed: Entire section is placeholder. Arbitration clauses, class-action waivers, governing law, venue selection, and small-claims carve-outs need to be drafted by a lawyer. Many aggressive arbitration clauses have been struck down in recent cases.
If you have a dispute with us, we'd rather resolve it directly. Reach out to legal@tessakin.com and describe the issue. We'll respond in good faith.
If we can't resolve it directly, disputes will be handled through [arbitration / small claims / court system — TBD with lawyer] under [governing law — TBD with lawyer].
Ending this agreement
You can leave anytime
You can step back or leave Tessakin at any time from your account settings. See our privacy policy for what happens to your data when you leave.
We can end your access
We can terminate your access to Tessakin if you violate these terms or our community guidelines, or if required by law. When we do, we explain why and provide an appeal path — except in rare cases involving legal or safety emergencies where immediate action is required.
What survives termination
Some parts of this agreement outlive the account: intellectual property rights, liability limitations, indemnification, and dispute-resolution clauses remain in effect even after your access ends.
Other provisions
Legal review needed: Standard boilerplate — severability, entire agreement, no waiver, assignment, etc. — needs to be drafted.
Severability
If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stay in effect.
Entire agreement
These terms (together with our privacy policy and community guidelines) are the full agreement between you and Tessakin. Previous agreements, if any, are superseded.
No waiver
If we don't enforce a right in any particular instance, we haven't given up that right.
Assignment
We may assign or transfer this agreement in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale. You can't assign it without our permission.
